Food as medicine

Food and herbs are great companions to acupuncture treatments. I know that it's challenging to talk about food. Food is personal. It's spiritual. It's connected to so much of what makes up who we are. This is why I strive to create a space free of judgement where you can feel heard. My practice is not inspired by diet culture or centered on weight loss The way to my own heart is through the perfect scone or glass of red wine.  But I also know that food is medicine and that all disease begins in the gut. Ultimately, I want you to understand how your body works, what may be stressing your body and how you can use food to support and heal your body.

Chinese Herbal therapy

Chinese herbal therapy is one of the most powerful medicines I have ever known. Whats unique about Chinese herbalism is its endless ability to be modified and curated to treat the current symptoms that are a priority in the body while addressing underlying patterns that may be contributing to the illness. For example, in Chinese herbal therapy there are over two dozen formulas just for insomnia and double that for colds and flus. Its complicated and brilliant, safe and effective when prescribed by an experienced and properly trained provider.

I utilize my background studying nutrition, herbs, supplements, anatomy, physiology and Chinese medicine to curate an approach that feels attainable and nourishing to you. Based on your goals, we'll form a personalized plan that navigates your individual thresholds that we update frequently. My work has been most effective with patients who have been committed to ongoing, adaptive care.
